BLUE DE GÊNES
BLUE DE GÊNES

Bleu de Gênes is a fresh Danish denim brand that draws inspiration from the origins of jeans.

More than 400 years ago the dockers in Genoa, Italy used a sturdy fabric called "Geanes bombast" for theit work and sailing wear, which was made of Arabic cotton. The rough, tough material was then dyed blue with indigo and eventually exported by the quality-driven increase concupiscence in many other countries. To carry the origin honor, the blue fabric was named "Bleu de Genes" after the city which then was on French territory. Meanwhile the old concept has been adapted to the today generally accepted term "blue jeans" and stands for the distinctive fabric from which probably all of us have some favorite pieces in their wardrobe.

This story behind the blue pants is the starting point for Bleu de Genes' Collections - a clothing line with an authentic look, quality materials, knitted by hand sweaters and Japanese selvedge fabrics.
